Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ First Dream Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Forwarded to late night

[Good evening Luceti. Are you all doing well? Lets hope you're getting some good rest and shut eye because it's usually a long day in the craziest village ever.

Tonight another New Feather will arrive. A rather late arrival, but she came to join all of you. Dropping from the sky at full speed and then disappearing in a flash. Give her a good welcome as she comes to visit you while you sleep. No, she's isn't the tooth fairy. Or the sandman. She's another thing entirely.

Enjoy having a special visitor in your dreams.]

[ooc: Please read this and fill out this (its at the bottom) before posting here. Thanks!]

[A snake slithers over a few jutting spars of wood. There shouldn't be shadows here, but suddenly there are, and the snake's shadow looks far too huge and monstrous. Giles watches it thoughtfully.]

The Mayor. Of our home. Well, not really a home. But he turned into a demon and tried to eat us all. Very rude of him. So we blew him up. Simple, really.

[When she hears the sounds of movement, albeit silent, she turns around to look at it as well.]

That sounds horrible. So, what are you looking for then?

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-17 12:05 pm (UTC)(link)
The thing that makes it all make sense.

It used to be here.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Doesn't your reason for bombing the place makes it make sense alone?
consultmybooks: (Get Out)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-18 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Not that. [He shakes his head] It made sense for us to blow him up, and this was the only way to do it.

But this was where things made sense before. Find the right book, find the right spell, and it all makes sense. And it doesn't anymore.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-18 02:30 pm (UTC)(link)
[She nods. Still not understanding why it doesn't make sense because of this one book, but she won't say anything for now.]

Positive you don't want some help? Looks like you might be searching for a while without it.

[Giles stares at her curiously for a second. He knows that something's different - not quite wrong but different - but he's not lucid enough to put his finger on it]

If you want.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Great! [She comes closer and reaches for some of the pile- until she realizes something] So, what am I looking for?
consultmybooks: (Tea is Called For)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
A book. It's usually a book. Books seem to be what I'm all about.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Usually a book, huh. [She begins to go through the pile curiously.] Like reading I take it?
consultmybooks: (Music Man)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
Very much. [And he goes back to his sifting] Books make sense. The information is always there, if you know where to look. Takes a while, but it always works out.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 04:18 am (UTC)(link)
Books are pretty nice. [She stops for a moment.] Although I always found myself fond of films more. There are just some things a book can't project or record.
consultmybooks: (Get Out)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
I disagree.

But I'm always disagreeing on that front. Don't mind me.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
[Her response is a wry smile.]

That's okay. I just don't like 'going by the book', as they say. You can a lot outside the boundaries of a book if you branch out.

[She goes back to shuffling through the ashes with that.]
consultmybooks: (Get Out)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 04:34 am (UTC)(link)
Books are what I do. That, and Watching. I am the Watcher, of course. But I watch the books more than anything. Sad, really.

[As he's shuffling, a bit of red pokes through the ashes. Giles picks it up carefully - it's one of the bundles of feathers, blood red]

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 04:40 am (UTC)(link)
A Watcher of books. Wouldn't that make you a librarian?

[Her back is turned to him, so she doesn't notice the feathers. But she does notice the lack of shuffling noises on his part and crooks her head around her shoulder.]

Did you find something?
consultmybooks: (Consult my Books)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Was a librarian. This was my library. But it blew up, so I'm not anymore.

[Then he shakes his head and amends] I never really was to begin with, though. I was a Watcher who was pretending to be a librarian. There is a difference, although I can see where you'd miss it.

[He holds up the bunch of red feathers for Paprika to see]

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 04:53 am (UTC)(link)
[She glances at the feathers, not quite sure what all this means.]

Did any birds blow up with this library by accident?
consultmybooks: (Default)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 05:04 am (UTC)(link)
No.

This is all to do with where I am now. With the wings. A-And the feathers, as well.

I don't know why they are. Neither does she, and she's usually the one to solve things.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 05:21 am (UTC)(link)
[...Oh. Another person from Luceti, like she guessed.]

She? A friend of yours?
consultmybooks: (Talk to Me)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 05:22 am (UTC)(link)
She's cheated death twice. I don't know why she can't solve this problem.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
A fate defier eh. Must have an interesting life. [Although, she can't help but tease a little.] ...Oh? A problem you can't solve with your books?
consultmybooks: (Neither amused nor impressed)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 05:25 am (UTC)(link)
[He frowns. Not at Paprika, more at life in general]

I don't have my books. It's annoying.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-19 05:26 am (UTC)(link)
Get some new ones then. Books are just reprinted, mass produced words from another person's mind. I'm sure there's a store or library somewhere.
consultmybooks: (Get Out)

[personal profile] consultmybooks 2010-09-19 05:27 am (UTC)(link)
Not mine. [Sad sigh] They're old. They're powerful. They're mine.

You sound like someone I used to know.
