Hey folks. Sorry to interrupt all the daily fun you're having over the books, but I just want to let people know that I'm going to be off on a mission for the next week. Nothing life threatening, just reading some books on Japan's Edo Period all day long. May learn something new! Hey, if you've been on one of these researching things you should tell me how it went. Weren't too bored right?

I work as a psychologist back home. Psychologists are people doctors so to speak, who evaluate one's psych and counsels them. That's the concise definition at least. I am particularly versed in dream therapy. So, if you have any troubles you feel like speaking over, I would be glad to help you. Confidentiality is of course the number one rule, so nothing you tell me will be aired publicly.

Helios gave me a magic necklace for Christmas that allows me to speak.

What's the name of the book?

Uh...A Little Giant Book Tongue Twisters.

--Can Helios really do that? I didn't realize. [She knew he had some magic know-how, but a necklace that could let her speak is pretty out there.]

I'll have to keep an eye out for it at the library.

Apparently he can. He's full of all sorts of surprises. Did you see when he made a whole bunch of snow sculptures come to life?

I saw a few other books in the same section, but it was one of the bigger ones. Guess you want to test out how well you can manage.

[She makes a slight 'ahhh' sound, rather impressed at what she's hearing.] I didn't know he did that. What a crazy thing to do. Not sure why he would do it, but it's still crazy!

I've always thought tongue-twisters were fun. At least fun to hear, I've never tried them out myself. My mom and brother used them all the time for vocal exercises.

For the fun of it, I'd say. It was wonderful, he made all sorts of mythical creatures and brought them to life.

Well good luck. They are a lot tougher than they look. I bet they would be useful for speech therapy, for those who have problems pronouncing certain sounds.

That's so bizarre. Hope none of them go rampant and start destroying the place then. It happens more often that you think! [That's only in movies though...]

No, no, they were perfectly harmless. Beautiful to see. Though I can imagine there'd be trouble if his dragon went rampaging around. Perhaps it'd breathe frost instead of fire.

It's more like self-inflicting torture for your tongue. Reason why they call it a twister.

A dragon that breathes out frost. Somehow, I would not be shocked in the least! As long as he keeps that thing on a leash or something.

He had complete control over it, nothing to worry about. I think he said they all returned to being regular snow sculptures by the end of the night.

So, it's like Frosty the Snowman. Only with dragons.

Exactly. And twenty times cooler. Er, pun unintended.

[She snickers a little.]

I'll resist any urge to make a pun as well then.

Still, I'm happy you can talk now at least like this. You really had a nice voice when we first met, so seeing you use it is great.

Thanks. It's... you know, when I was blind and able to speak, and now, I've been thinking a lot on it. Even though it's easier for me to talk to everyone now and it's less awkward for me, I'm still me. I haven't changed. It's nice knowing that.

And... it's really nice knowing I have people that care enough to want to give me this gift. I don't know how much time Helios put into the necklace, but it certainly must have been a lot.

People in Luceti are very accustomed to helping others who show kindness to them. You are a kind person, who does a lot for others, so it is no surprise someone would want to help you in return. I'm sure Helios was happy to make it for you, just as you were happy to receive it from him.

I suppose I'm still getting used to receiving kindness in return. Or kindness without strings attached at least. [A dry chuckle.] But then that's not really kindness, is it.

There are different kinds of kindness, but the best is the altruistic sort. Sticking together is always the optimal option in a situation like ours. You'll get use to it, even if it has been...less than a year for you, right?

Six months as of last week. I'm catching up.
