✯ Alternate Universe Session 2.0 ✯ [Voice]

Dream Log (Recorded Morn. 4/24)
-Vivid colors. A lot of oranges, reds and yellows.
-Mundane creatures doing bizarre things. A lot of chaotic noise.
-A china doll on an emperor's chair.
-Blue butterflies.

Dream Log (Recorded Morn. 4/25)
-The same things repeat from the last night.
-A man (?) with two heads among the butterflies. Facial features unrecognizable.
-My name is being called by an older sounding voice. Very frantic tone.
-A woman in a white lab coat with black hair.
--I don't know her name but she feels familiar.

[Voice (Morning of the 25th)]

Everyone, first of all please remain calm over the dreams you've been having. The frequent rate of bizarre nightmares means they are very likely planted shifts put into the mainstream subconscious. There is no need to be alarmed. Dreams are just dreams and can't hurt you.

Second of all, I guess I should stop being a lazy bum. I run a small clinic around these parts. Most people would refer to me as a shrink, but I prefer the term 'psychologist'. Sleep and dream therapy are two of my specialties I like to say!

My business is a bit more obscure these days, but if anyone wants to talk about the strange things they've been seeing, I'll gladly be an ear for you to vent and get some professional advice. Free of charge. And if you don't want to talk with me, just go talk with someone. Or write what you have been dreaming of. It could help. I'll be open all day long for those that want to schedule short sessions with me.

Also don't avoid sleep over this. I mean it, that does nothing good to your body.

[ooc: tags may be a bit slow. also, if you want to action it up, here's a different post in the log thread forwarded to the 26th]

[She listens intently to him as he speaks and waits for him to finish before chiming in her thoughts.]

It seems that you're dreaming in a linear fashion. That is, one dream described an A event and the next describes a B event and so on. However, you sound really upset by all of this. The last part where you mentioned the valley being 'violated' - are you talking about from your own perspective, or did everything just appear off to you in a complete manner.

L-Linear fashion... that would make s-sense. It seems... progressive, in some ways.

[Calm yourself, Robert.]

... It's upsetting mostly because it seems like all of this did happen, and yet it's impossible...

And, well, everything seemed wrong in the sense that nothing behaved like it should. I... related to people differently, from what I can remember beyond what I described... My relationships with people were different. Even the Valley looked different in some regards... I can't remember the f-farmland, for example.

It's... all very strange.

What is your family like in your dreams? Are they still close to you or do they not even appear?

... My family in the dreams... I...

... V-Vivi was my foster daughter. But Donatello wasn't my b-brother anymore...

... The rest of my family w-wasn't there either. Wh-which didn't really surprise me much, because they... th-they were killed......

[He's never been that close to his family, but the dreams are making it hurt.]

... It's strange...

...It is. Like I said, these dreams are very inorganic and not normal. Dreams aren't supposed to psychology torture people, unless there is a catalyst or element causing it. For now I think you need to keep your mind off the dreams, rather than on. Thinking about them is fine and all, but not if you keep feeling distressed over them.

They... c-certainly seem different from most dreams that I have. Much more detailed and immersive. They actually f-feel far more like memories than dreams.

... But... I'll try to take your advice, Paprika. I know how skilled you are in this field...

[Honestly, though, the hardest thing for Robert to do is take his mind off something.]

Memories. ...I guess that's an interesting thought. That these shifts might just be false memories trying to break into our conscious through the subconscious.

[She makes a thoughtful hum. Having dreams about people one has never met, people they barely know and places they never seen.]

It's just another possibility. I hope you don't lose sleep over these dreams.

It's... possible. Though it is strange for a Shift to cause false memories...

... I'll try not to, Paprika. I appreciate your advice immensely. But you know I always appreciate anything your family does for me.

[Robert smiles gently at her.]

Hey, if they can shift us over to different houses in the middle of the night for no reason, then I don't see what it's too far-fetched.

No problem! I'm always willing to help out a family friend. You just need to ease off and relax a little.

Relaxing... that sounds like a very intelligent idea.

I wish you the best of luck yourself, Paprika... you must have so many clients at this point. To say nothing of the Shift affecting you as well...

I'll be okay. I've been so lazy with work given the festival preparations, so having some work on my hands isn't a bother. As for the Shifts, my dreams are just jumbled messes I can't even make up.

[Now that sounds odd.]

Jumbled messes...?

That seems strange, at least in the context of this Shift. Why would it produce garbled dreams...? [It nags at him that if they aren't just dreams, it might explain the garbledness...

Or maybe not?]

Hrm. At any rate, I hope that all goes well...

[Voice | Filtered 100%]

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2011-05-07 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, but even weirder than before. With jumbled messes you can't normally tell what is going on, but when I dreamed of them I knew what was happening for the most part. A large parade and a lot of vivid colors and blue butterflies floating around everywhere.

I'm not sure what it means though, and that's a bit distressing. I can handle it though!

Ah, well, I assume that if anybody could handle it, it would be you, Paprika. After all, this is your forté.

I'm sure that you will come to some sort of conclusion on this whole mess soon enough. [Robert tries to have enough optimism for both of them... though he's never been optimistic.]

No need to fear, I'm on the case. Maybe I should quit therapy and start a detective agency. Dream Detective Paprika. Has a cool ring to it, right?

[She winks a little and laughs.] It will be I'm sure. They always pass by eventually.

[Robert smiles as well, at both parts of this.] It certainly does...

... Yes, they always do pass by.

Eventually.

[He's hoping it'll be sooner rather than later, because it's starting to get disturbing.]
