[Around the afternoon, Paprika was released from the experimental alternate universe and went back to being her cheery dream girl self. And, like most others, she thought she was spared from the continued experiments.

Oh how wrong she was.

Like on the first night she arrived in Luceti, Paprika is going to be dropping into people's dreams through teleportation. Prepare to get your dreamspace invaded citizens of Luceti. Please don't kill her for this - she really doesn't want to imagine the crazy stuff you dream of.]

[Naoki tilts his head, looking back at her and blinking.]

Yeah, I'm... I'm okay. [A brief pause and, seeming puzzled:] Who are you?

Oh, right! I'm Paprika. [She begins walking towards him, her attire changing back to normal as she draws closer. Without the King's tunic covering her upper body her wings are also fully visible now.] Sorry for imposing like this.

[Naoki's eyes watch her clothes change and then his eyes catch on her wings and he blinks.]

Imposing? [He walks closer. The landscape begins to shift again, and wind whips past as the wasteland melts away into a rooftop, the sky seeming very close overhead. To look off the roof would get a view of only clouds.] Are you another villager...?

[Once again, she ignores any change in scenery and makes a slightly sheepish smile.]

Yeah. I...sort of got teleported here.

[Naoki tilts his head but then he's offering a smile back.]

Can't say I've ever heard of anyone getting teleported to dreams... [A beat--] Oh, right. My name's Naoki. It's nice to meet you.

It's sort of a special ability I have. I guess the Malnosso figured out how it ticked. [A weak chuckle.]

It's okay. Not the first time someone's seen my dreams.

[He seems a mix of amused and wistfully fond.] I'm glad this wasn't too bad of one, though. They get a lot worse. [He looks out over the rooftop at the sky.]

Oh, hardly a day went by in the Vortex World where I didn't get attacked by something or another.

[He walks to the edge of the rooftop, hooking his fingers in the mesh fencing that encircles it.] Even here I have my fights.

Do your enemies regularly turn into people from the village? [A small smile.] Don't tell Sanji-san that I hit an image of him with a pole on the head. It might break his heart.

It'll be our secret. [Naoki gives a small laugh, just a bit weak at the question.] And it's...well, sometimes. I guess it's because we fought each other before. [A beat--] Not of their own volition, mind you.

I'm guessing experiments caused that. Those scientists are really twisted to make friends fight each other. Don't worry, I won't tell them that you beat them around. [A light chuckle.]

I'd be grateful. [He looks sheepish.] Pretty sure they still feel bad about it still without knowing I dream about it.

Well, I wouldn't have told them even if you said so. I keep everything that I see private as a code of ethics. It's apart of my job after all.

I work as a researcher in dream therapy. A psychotherapist specializing in dreams is the best way to describe my profession.

It does, but it came from the overuse of the machines we worked with. [Well, for Atsuko at least. She reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small white headpiece.] DC Mini. With two of these hooked up to each other, anyone can share and enter dreams.

[Naoki turns to look at the headpiece, blinking.] That's pretty amazing...

It is, but I don't find it that amazing. The person who made it is more extraordinary in my opinion. [She lets the machine fade away.]

Speaking of amazing - what you were doing back there. Now that was amazing.

Mm--I'd never expected I'd get all these, but, well. Things happened in my world and I ended up being turned into a [a bit awkwardly, because he remembers the last reaction he got telling someone this:] half-demon.

Half-demon? [She looks more bewildered than anything.] I didn't realize people could be half-demon.

[He relaxes at that.] It's...well, as my friend put it, I have the body of a demon, but the heart of a human.
