✯ First Session ✯ [Voice]

[As soon as the feed clicks on a woman can be seen, eating a bag of popcorn. She's been flipping around her journal for a while and feels her curiosity at it's peek. That and it's raining. Not a fun day at all.]

Hello everyone, I hope you're staying indoors and keeping warm. 'When it rains, it pours!' as the old saying goes. Don't want anyone catching a flu out there.

Hey, I'm curious: what kind of places does everyone come from? An island, a desolate desert, the ocean, the city- maybe you don't even have a place to call home. This 'different worlds' thing is really exciting! Like a merge of different cultures coming all together...against our wills. [It doesn't sound as good now that she thinks about it.]

...Oh, I hope I'm not prying though. Some people think I do that a lot, so don't be offended. I'm not going to store this information away for nefarious means. It's just a way to spend time waiting for the sun to come up. Exchanging stories that we might never hear in our 'world' sounds fun, don't you think?

[She's about to click off the feed, but then remembers something important.]

Wait! Almost forgot: thanks to everyone who helped me get settled into this place a couple weeks back. You know who you are.

Another traveling worker. They seem to have a lot of your type around here. Too bad you can't continue your work for the time being.

Honestly, if I don't have to do my job here, I'm happy.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It looked like a hard job. At least from what I saw.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
It's worth it. It keeps other people safe.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
That's very valiant of you, Derek-san. I know a person like that who you would have liked.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
...Dunno about 'valiant'. Someone's just gotta do it.

...Good friend of yours?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
That alone sounds valiant.

Well, we did have a couple drinks together. Can't go into anything more than that.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
[Derek won't say anything about that observation...he doesn't consider himself anything special; he just does a job most people can't...or won't, do.]

I understand.

Anything you can talk about?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I can talk about anything related to dreams. Why you dream of being eaten, chased, married. How recurring dreams haunt you. Even your dreams.

Alternatively, I can talk about movies.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 10:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Dreams and movies, huh? Different sides, same coin?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 12:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Something like that. A movie is just a dream on a big screen. So is a painting, a story, anything that you put your heart into doing or making.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 01:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[Derek nods to himself.]

Makes sense.

So you do remember me, too. Thought it was weird I saw someone new there.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 12:55 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't be much of a dream therapist if I didn't remember my sessions. I would get two jobs at most before word spread around.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
...Dream therapist.

That's...not something I'm familiar with.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 01:30 am (UTC)(link)
Not surprised. In my world, around the year 2006, a psychotherapy machine was created, which lets people connect their subconscious together. I work as one of the psychotherapists on the research team, who tested out the machine on some volunteers. It's basically therapy, only it happens while someone is dreaming.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-27 11:05 am (UTC)(link)
Huh.

Seems like it would be a little disorienting.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-29 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
When you wake up it is. Everyone gets used to it after the first couple times. It's a minor downside to what's considered a revolutionary new way to treat patients.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 01:10 am (UTC)(link)
...Doesn't it freak out the patients?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-30 06:06 am (UTC)(link)
I wouldn't know. The device was still in the testing phase when I got thrown into this place. I only used it on maybe a few people, most of them mentally unstable.

[identity profile] derek-bliss.livejournal.com 2010-10-01 01:11 am (UTC)(link)
...Huh.
