✯ First Session ✯ [Voice]

[As soon as the feed clicks on a woman can be seen, eating a bag of popcorn. She's been flipping around her journal for a while and feels her curiosity at it's peek. That and it's raining. Not a fun day at all.]

Hello everyone, I hope you're staying indoors and keeping warm. 'When it rains, it pours!' as the old saying goes. Don't want anyone catching a flu out there.

Hey, I'm curious: what kind of places does everyone come from? An island, a desolate desert, the ocean, the city- maybe you don't even have a place to call home. This 'different worlds' thing is really exciting! Like a merge of different cultures coming all together...against our wills. [It doesn't sound as good now that she thinks about it.]

...Oh, I hope I'm not prying though. Some people think I do that a lot, so don't be offended. I'm not going to store this information away for nefarious means. It's just a way to spend time waiting for the sun to come up. Exchanging stories that we might never hear in our 'world' sounds fun, don't you think?

[She's about to click off the feed, but then remembers something important.]

Wait! Almost forgot: thanks to everyone who helped me get settled into this place a couple weeks back. You know who you are.

[A pretty face he hasn't flirted with? That will need fixing.]

Well, "home" for me would be the Frontier colony fleet... somewhere near the center of the Milky Way galaxy, though Earth was our origin point.

A space pioneer? That sounds like the things sci-fi stories are made of.

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 02:18 am (UTC)(link)
Strictly speaking, I wouldn't call us pioneers... though it does technically fit.

And I'm not that much of an oddity here, am I?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 02:20 am (UTC)(link)
Well here, no. Space travel like what you described is a far way from being reality back home. We're getting there, slowly but surely!

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 02:24 am (UTC)(link)
Admittedly, we did get to cheat. Up to the end of the 20th century, the Moon was as far as Earth had managed to send anyone- but once they finished studying the technology and repairing an alien ship we called the SDF-1 Macross, well, the sky was no longer the limit~

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Alien ship? Like Area 52? I thought aliens didn't exist though.

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe not where you're from- but without the Protoculture's work through the galaxy, humanity wouldn't even exist.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-23 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Eh, seriously? Your life really does sound like a science-fiction story. Constant excitement in your home I wager.

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 01:48 am (UTC)(link)
Hah. My dear, you have no idea. I find some of the things that have happened around me pretty hard to believe myself.

[Not the giant alien bugs or FTL space travel. That's totally believable. But two women falling head over heels for his best buddy and oblivious putz, Alto? Now that's hard to swallow.]

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[The curse of not being the main lead]

I find your story pretty hard to believe myself, so I can only imagine all the stuff you must deal with on a daily basis.

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 07:20 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, my daily life wasn't so bad. Go to school, head to the Macross Quarter for a few hours of standby, meet my date for the night, go home, rinse and repeat.

Simple, but I enjoyed it.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Your date for the night? Left behind a girlfriend?

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-24 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yes.]

No. I just happened to be particularly popular with the girls back home~

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-25 06:11 pm (UTC)(link)
There's something they say about promiscuous men, sir.

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 01:01 am (UTC)(link)
["Promiscuous" implies he's gone very far with them. second with a good percentage, third with a rare few. He doesn't usually see any one girl for long enough to justify anything further. Boy has a few Prooo~bleeems~]

I wouldn't know, unfortunately. Most of the girls on Frontier honestly didn't have much of a problem with it.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 12:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Either way, you sound like quiet the ladies man.

[identity profile] sapphire-sniper.livejournal.com 2010-09-26 03:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a gift, I suppose.

[He only refers to himself as "Protoculture's gift to women" in non-female company~]
