Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ First Dream Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Forwarded to late night

[Good evening Luceti. Are you all doing well? Lets hope you're getting some good rest and shut eye because it's usually a long day in the craziest village ever.

Tonight another New Feather will arrive. A rather late arrival, but she came to join all of you. Dropping from the sky at full speed and then disappearing in a flash. Give her a good welcome as she comes to visit you while you sleep. No, she's isn't the tooth fairy. Or the sandman. She's another thing entirely.

Enjoy having a special visitor in your dreams.]

[ooc: Please read this and fill out this (its at the bottom) before posting here. Thanks!]

[Spot her he does, but the oddity of wings (at least for the dream) is slow to make an impression. He's happy enough that's she's cute and presumably hungry.]

Welcome, our claimed guest~! [Sanji shoos off a seater; he's got this covered. And then bows for Paprika] Would the lovely miss prefer one of our window seats? The expanse of ocean right next to you, perfect for whetting the appetite.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[She giggles a bit at his welcome.] An ocean view? Well how can I resist such a wonderful offer. Which way is it?

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 12:19 am (UTC)(link)
This way, my goddess~! [He's all grins and hearts as he leads the way, looking pleased with himself.

It's not until they get to the window seat - and as promised, the view's damn breath-taking - that he focuses in on what's on her back, and pauses.

They're... really familiar-looking.

Ah, but it's not polite to stare, and he pulls out another smile]
I'll be the lady's server for the evening, at your every beck and call~! Just call me Sanji.

What can I get for you first?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 12:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Lucky for Sanji, flirting doesn't really bother or faze her. She looks at the view with a wide grin]

What a great view. I rarely see the ocean because I'm always in the city. [She sits down and turns back to him.] My name is Paprika. Can you get me a glass of beer, Sanji-san?

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
One of the perks to living on the sea. [He means it, evidenced by his fond tone, before it switches to immediate compliance] As you wish, Paprika-chwan~!

[And he's glad for something to do. As his feet feel through the familiar crowds of servers and guests, his mind wanders too. To the wings. To her face. He's never seen her before, that much is clear - he doesn't forget a lady's name.

So why does he feel strange?

Where he gets the tall glass of beer is irrelevant. Someway or another, he returns to her table and presents it, foam seated high in the glass and tiny bubbles swimming in the cool liquid]

Your drink~ ♥ [Next he'll ask what she'd like to eat, if anything. Then get her food, maybe shoot the breeze, perhaps convince her to visit the Baratie another day if she--]

You have beautiful wings.

[... ah damn it]

[She waits patiently, admiring the view once he leaves. When Sanji comes back with her drink she smiles again. It's been a while since she had some alcohol.] Thank you! [She takes it and gingerly takes a sip.

When Sanji comments on the wings she turns away from the beer.]

Why thank you. [She lets them flutter lightly.] I don't normally get compliments like that every day. [Mainly because she doesn't just have wings for no reason every day.]

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:16 am (UTC)(link)
They're certainly worth commenting over. [For... many reasons.

He idles in place for a beat. Against his better judgment, he continues talking]

Are they common where you're from?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:18 am (UTC)(link)
Hm. Nope not really. [she takes another small sip of her beer, letting the flavor sit on her tongue.]

Actually, from what I've heard, they're native to a place called Luceti. Know about it?

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:24 am (UTC)(link)
[No.]

Yes. [Sanji starts from his own answer. What?

His back feels itchy. And he can't help but glance behind like he expects to see wings. There's nothing there]

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
[She smiles gently.]

You probably don't have them because you don't want them. At least that's my opinion. I don't seem to have that choice.

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
[...]

[Alright, so. Options. Either Luceti's fucking up again, they sent him home (which isn't possible anyway, he wouldn't be on the Baratie), or he's dreaming.

... His money's on the first one, out of principle]

Is this another shitty experiment?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Experiment? No, no. I'm...sort of lost. It's hard to explain, but you're dreaming. That's why you don't have the wings right now I guess, but I do.

Also watch your language a little.

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
[Option three it is. Sanji actually relaxes at hearing that. It's that much better than the alternative.]

Ah, sorry Paprika-chan. [He means the apology, but he's also a little distracted because... huh, he doesn't often know that he's dreaming. He's staring around the Baratie in quiet wander with the hints of a fleeting grin.

Damn, but it's been a long time, feels like]

Too bad I didn't pick a more interesting dream for you to get lost in.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
[She waves a little.] It's fine, Sanji-san.

[Another sip of her drink.] Oh no this is actually relaxing. It's been a while since I had a drink, so no worries about it. [She gestures to the empty seat across her] Want to have one with me?

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
In that case, I'd be honored~! [He's recovered quite nicely, and takes the offered seat. It's a lot easier brushing off his duties if they're not gonna make a difference here]

So I take it you do this kind of thing often?

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 02:35 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah. It's sort of a job really. I don't normally just come in without warning though, so sorry for the surprise.

I take it you work in a restaurant normally? There's something they say about people who dream about their job.

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
No a problem. I'm enjoying the wake-up call, if you will. [Another glance around the restaurant, this one full of nostalgia]

And something like that. I'm a pirate chef now. It's been over a year since I've lived here. [And he misses it. The happy chatter and noise and sounds of eager cooking]

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 02:53 am (UTC)(link)
[She notices his glance, but doesn't say anything. He's more than welcome to reminisce.]

A pirate chef? Sounds exciting. Go on any cool adventures?

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 02:58 am (UTC)(link)
Of course! I wouldn't be much of a pirate if I didn't. Can't lead a boring life with the captain I've got.

Since you're staying in Luceti, you might run into my crew.

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-05 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, your crew came together. Sounds pretty inspiring. "The crew that sticks together, sailing across the universe to different worlds side by side!" Or something like that.

I haven't been in Luceti actually yet. Do you guys have a ship there?

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-06 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
[Grins] We're not all here yet, but you're right. A universe won't keep us apart for long.

[Sigh, and he leans back in his seat. What he'd give for that] No luck there. There's no ocean - just two lakes, and you can't sail a pirate ship on those. [And he trails off, finding her statements a little strange]

You haven't been in Luceti?
Edited 2010-09-06 01:53 (UTC)

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-06 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
How many people are in your crew so far then? Is it a large one?

Oh that's a shame. A crew without a ship. Not exactly many places to go with lakes.

[she takes another sip and nods.] Like I said, I'm lost. So far I haven't made it to the village yet. No idea why. [Although she has a hunch that it might be the lack of a DC Mini]

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-06 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Just nine of us total. Seven of us are already here.

And there aren't many places to go anyway. The barrier makes sure of that. We've got a town, a forest, a desert... some mountains. That's it.

[He mulls over that, staring at the customers while he thinks] So you wander from dream to dream.

Maybe you haven't woken up yet? [Is she asleep? The details of this dream-hopping are escaping him]

[identity profile] byakkoyagirl.livejournal.com 2010-09-06 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, so you're almost all complete. Are they in this dream?

Huh. It's a long way from being a city. [Not that she doesn't mind going anywhere, but city life is just so much more fun for her.]

...I guess that's a possibility. A good one. [Except not. Dreams have no need for sleep. But telling him she's a literal dream might be too freaky. She doesn't want him to starting cursing again.]

[identity profile] oda-hates-me.livejournal.com 2010-09-06 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
I doubt it. If they were here, we would've heard them by now. [And she and him wouldn't be casually talking on the Baratie. Explosions, adventures... oh yes, she'll have to see some of his post-Luffy dreams]

To be honest, life starts getting repetitive the longer you stay here. [shrugs] But you can say that for any place.

[If he ever finds out, he'll just think she's the prettiest dream he's ever seen and leave logic at the door. Ah, crazy canons]

Regardless, it's gotta be fun - visiting other people's dreams.
