Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ First Dream Ƹ̴Ӂ̴Ʒ Forwarded to late night
[Good evening Luceti. Are you all doing well? Lets hope you're getting some good rest and shut eye because it's usually a long day in the craziest village ever.
Tonight another New Feather will arrive. A rather late arrival, but she came to join all of you. Dropping from the sky at full speed and then disappearing in a flash. Give her a good welcome as she comes to visit you while you sleep. No, she's isn't the tooth fairy. Or the sandman. She's another thing entirely.
Enjoy having a special visitor in your dreams.]

Welcome, our claimed guest~! [Sanji shoos off a seater; he's got this covered. And then bows for Paprika] Would the lovely miss prefer one of our window seats? The expanse of ocean right next to you, perfect for whetting the appetite.

It's not until they get to the window seat - and as promised, the view's damn breath-taking - that he focuses in on what's on her back, and pauses.
They're... really familiar-looking.
Ah, but it's not polite to stare, and he pulls out another smile] I'll be the lady's server for the evening, at your every beck and call~! Just call me Sanji.
What can I get for you first?
no subject
What a great view. I rarely see the ocean because I'm always in the city. [She sits down and turns back to him.] My name is Paprika. Can you get me a glass of beer, Sanji-san?
no subject
[And he's glad for something to do. As his feet feel through the familiar crowds of servers and guests, his mind wanders too. To the wings. To her face. He's never seen her before, that much is clear - he doesn't forget a lady's name.
So why does he feel strange?
Where he gets the tall glass of beer is irrelevant. Someway or another, he returns to her table and presents it, foam seated high in the glass and tiny bubbles swimming in the cool liquid]
Your drink~ ♥ [Next he'll ask what she'd like to eat, if anything. Then get her food, maybe shoot the breeze, perhaps convince her to visit the Baratie another day if she--]
You have beautiful wings.
[... ah damn it]
no subject
When Sanji comments on the wings she turns away from the beer.]
Why thank you. [She lets them flutter lightly.] I don't normally get compliments like that every day. [Mainly because she doesn't just have wings for no reason every day.]
no subject
He idles in place for a beat. Against his better judgment, he continues talking]
Are they common where you're from?
no subject
Actually, from what I've heard, they're native to a place called Luceti. Know about it?
no subject
Yes. [Sanji starts from his own answer. What?
His back feels itchy. And he can't help but glance behind like he expects to see wings. There's nothing there]
no subject
You probably don't have them because you don't want them. At least that's my opinion. I don't seem to have that choice.
no subject
[Alright, so. Options. Either Luceti's fucking up again, they sent him home (which isn't possible anyway, he wouldn't be on the Baratie), or he's dreaming.
... His money's on the first one, out of principle]
Is this another shitty experiment?
no subject
Also watch your language a little.
no subject
Ah, sorry Paprika-chan. [He means the apology, but he's also a little distracted because... huh, he doesn't often know that he's dreaming. He's staring around the Baratie in quiet wander with the hints of a fleeting grin.
Damn, but it's been a long time, feels like]
Too bad I didn't pick a more interesting dream for you to get lost in.
no subject
[Another sip of her drink.] Oh no this is actually relaxing. It's been a while since I had a drink, so no worries about it. [She gestures to the empty seat across her] Want to have one with me?
no subject
So I take it you do this kind of thing often?
no subject
I take it you work in a restaurant normally? There's something they say about people who dream about their job.
no subject
And something like that. I'm a pirate chef now. It's been over a year since I've lived here. [And he misses it. The happy chatter and noise and sounds of eager cooking]
no subject
A pirate chef? Sounds exciting. Go on any cool adventures?
no subject
Since you're staying in Luceti, you might run into my crew.
no subject
I haven't been in Luceti actually yet. Do you guys have a ship there?
no subject
[Sigh, and he leans back in his seat. What he'd give for that] No luck there. There's no ocean - just two lakes, and you can't sail a pirate ship on those. [And he trails off, finding her statements a little strange]
You haven't been in Luceti?
no subject
Oh that's a shame. A crew without a ship. Not exactly many places to go with lakes.
[she takes another sip and nods.] Like I said, I'm lost. So far I haven't made it to the village yet. No idea why. [Although she has a hunch that it might be the lack of a DC Mini]
no subject
And there aren't many places to go anyway. The barrier makes sure of that. We've got a town, a forest, a desert... some mountains. That's it.
[He mulls over that, staring at the customers while he thinks] So you wander from dream to dream.
Maybe you haven't woken up yet? [Is she asleep? The details of this dream-hopping are escaping him]
no subject
Huh. It's a long way from being a city. [Not that she doesn't mind going anywhere, but city life is just so much more fun for her.]
...I guess that's a possibility. A good one. [Except not. Dreams have no need for sleep. But telling him she's a literal dream might be too freaky. She doesn't want him to starting cursing again.]
no subject
To be honest, life starts getting repetitive the longer you stay here. [shrugs] But you can say that for any place.
[If he ever finds out, he'll just think she's the prettiest dream he's ever seen and leave logic at the door. Ah, crazy canons]
Regardless, it's gotta be fun - visiting other people's dreams.
